Welcome!
My name is Desiree Obenauf, and I have graduated from Grand Valley State University in Michigan. I have a major in Mathematics and Education, and a minor in psychology. In the semester of Fall 2013, I was a teacher assist at Muskegon High School, in a 9th grade algebra class, and LOVED it! In the semester of Winter 2013, I was a student teacher at West Michigan Academy of Arts and Academics. There I taught 6th-8th grade mathematics, and love the energy students in middle school bring to the classroom! I have always had a passion for education and I am so excited to be starting my professional journey as a mathematics educator!
The purpose of this website is to demonstrate my knowledge, capability, and creativity related to my teaching approach. Also, my personal learning and educational growth is expressed dealing with what I have learned at Grand Valley State University and throughout my experiences. I am openly continuing to learn more about education. I absolutely love everything about education, and cannot imagine my life without it! Please contact me if you have any suggestions or questions. Thank you!

Quotes by mathematician, Plato:
"I shall assume that your silence gives consent."
"Better a little which is well done, than a great deal imperfectly."
"If a man neglects education, he walks lame to the end of his life."
"Knowledge which is acquired under compulsion obtains no hold on the mind."
